Atlas Mirror
Bower Studios and Seth Rogen put their heads together to design the Atlas Mirror for Sight Unseen's exhibition Field Studies. The colorful gradations of the globe-like mirror were inspired by a few of Rogen's favorite things; bold, vibrant colors found in street art, and the airbrushed hyper-colors found in 80's pop culture. Longitudinal sections of mirror are laid over the bold gradations of the hand-painted backing. Thick gaps between the mirror pieces allow the vibrant colors to shine through. This not only adds to the psychedelic 3D visual effect of the Atlas Mirror, but also makes for interesting colorful breaks in its reflection, and your face :) The Atlas Mirror's proceeds go toward Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen's organization Hilarity for Charity, which brings support and awareness to those affected by Alzheimer's. We tried to bring a little lightness and color to folks feeling the weight of the world on their shoulders.
