Founded in Copenhagen in 2011 by Tommy Hyldahl, NORR11 set out to create timeless pieces on the leading edge of design. The brand is driven by a desire to challenge the boundaries between time periods, design directions, cultures and materials. Design is led by Knut Bendik Humlevik and Rune Krøjgaard, who bring together Scandinavian minimalism and Japanese aesthetics. As the brand puts it, pieces are made "with character while balancing form, function and comfort."
Every piece is built to be viewed from any angle, not just from the front, giving the collection its distinct, object-like quality. NORR11 works with certified wood and water-based lacquers only. More than 90% of the collection is produced in Europe, with headquarters, design studio and flagship showroom all sharing one address in central Copenhagen.
