STEEL SIDEBOARD
Design: Lodovico Acerbis & Gabriele Buratti, 2001. In a unique collaboration, award-winning designer Gabriele Buratti and Acerbis's own Lodovico Acerbis created this unusually wide sideboard. Its minimalist structure rests on two ephemerally thin side panels in mirror-polished steel, bathed in light diffused by a matte methacrylate strip set into the top. The interior and base are lit as well, thanks to a lighting system placed in a back technical channel — light comes simultaneously from the top, the bottom, and inside the casings. A thick back panel, finished to match the front, makes the sideboard free-standing and suitable for centre-of-room placement. Flap doors, top and sides in matt or glossy lacquer, or dark-stained walnut veneer; sides in mirror-polished stainless steel; interior in white microembossed finish.
